WWE NXT Goes Off Air As Major Title Changes Hands
WWE NXT had a huge main event planned for tonight, which concluded a highly entertaining episode of the black and silver promotion. NXT General Manager Robert Stone had packed the night with important matches.
The Men’s and Women’s NXT Champions found out their next challengers for the upcoming Great American Bash PLE, which will be the first ever to be aired on the CW Network.
The night concluded with a huge championship clash where Tatum Paxley defended her Women’s North American Championship against Zaria, after promising her the match last week.
Tatum Paxley loses her NXT Title tonight
The Australian looked to put an end to the match in the opening stages as she looked to hit the F5 right when the bell rang. Paxley countered with a surprise pin, but Zaria kicked out and hit a massive Spear on Paxley.
She then dominated her opponent for large parts of the match, but Paxley gave it her all to retain her title. She came close multiple times to retaining the belt, and even took Zaria out with a Coast-to-Coast, but it wasn’t enough.

Zaria had her eyes firmly set on the Women’s North American Title, and she didn’t put a foot wrong. Paxley hit a moonsault to the outside to take her out, but the 27-year-old moved out of the way, allowing Paxley to hit the floor.
She then picked her up and hit an F5 onto the floor before taking her back in the ring. She then hit Tatum with a third Spear and followed it up with another F5 before pining Paxley to finally get her hands on the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
