WWE News: Raw on April 5 and Smackdown on April 9 Will Be Taped Early, Hall of Fame Taping Schedule, Update on NXT to Tuesdays

The road to WrestleMania is a busy time for WWE and it’s going to be even more hectic than usual because of how much content they are taping prior to WrestleMania. Instead of running live episodes of Raw on April 5 and Smackdown on April 9, both episodes will be taped.

Next Monday’s Raw will be live as usual on March 29, and then WWE will tape the following week’s Raw the next day on Tuesday, March 30. This is according to Post Wrestling. In addition to that, the Smackdown episode on April 9 will actually be taped eight days earlier on April 1. That means the April 2 Smackdown would be live. It’s possible that WWE tapes the April 2 episode on April 1 and then the April 9 episode would be taped on April 2. Anyway, the point is that both WrestleMania week shows will be taped a full week in advance.

Those episodes of Raw and Smackdown will be the final shows at Tropicana Field. As we posted earlier today, WWE will be moving the ThunderDome to Tampa’s Yuengling Center starting on April 12.

* It has also been reported that the WWE Hall of Fame 2021 ceremony will be taped Tuesday, March 30 and Thursday, April 1 according to Fightful. The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will air on Peacock/WWE Network on Tuesday, April 6.

* There is also an update on WWE moving NXT to Tuesdays after WrestleMania. This is something we have reported on in the past. It is being reported by PWInsider that “WWE’s production schedule for the month of April now lists WWE NXT for Tuesdays every week post-Wrestlemania weekend.” It was confirmed by multiple sources.

The first episode of Tuesday NXT will be April 13 following Wrestlemania 37 and every Tuesday after that.

The NXT move to Tuesday will put an end to the “Wednesday Night Wars” that have existed since October 2019.
