WWE May Release More Superstars After RAW – Reports
WWE has released around 40 superstars over the past two weeks, and according to new reports, more names could be on the way out.
The cuts began on April 24, 2026, and included major stars such as Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Wyatt Sicks, Zoey Stark, Alba Fyre and more. Shortly after, more names surfaced on May 2, including Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, JC Matteo, and Tonga Loa.
Speaking on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that additional releases could happen after WWR Raw this week.
“Ever since Friday’s show, we had more people released from WWE. There may be more coming. In fact, a few of the people that were announced this weekend had actually been released a while ago, and it just wasn’t announced until this weekend, so I believe there might be others as well.”
“I would not be surprised if there were more names to come.”
More WWE Releases Expected After Recent Wave Of Cuts
He specifically mentioned that Tama Tonga might still be among those at risk of being let go.
“I was told that Tama Tonga was gone. Turns out, he wasn’t released the next day. I don’t know what that means.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Alvarez also suggested that Shinsuke Nakamura could potentially be released as well.
Following a massive roster purge in WWE, the WWE Universe has been speculating about the reason behind the company’s release of so many superstars.
Some fans believed that TKO Group Holdings was no longer interested in supernatural-style characters, pointing to the releases of Wyatt Sicks, Aleister Black, and Zelina Vega as evidence. However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter debunked that rumor.
According to the report, the releases of Wyatt Sicks, Aleister Black, and Zelina Vega were due to a creative dead end, not because the company has moved away from supernatural characters.
