WWE Called Out For Comitting Major Mistake With Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill has recently found herself in the middle of a controversy following the events of WWE Elimination Chamber.
Rhea Ripley won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match to punch her ticket to WrestleMania 42, where she will challenge Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship on the grandest stage of them all.
Following Ripley’s victory, Cargill took to Twitter to talk some trash about her WrestleMania opponent, which is something WWE stars often do to build hype around their upcoming matches. However, Jade Cargill went a little too far and suggested that Ripley receives a lot of attention and favoritism from the creative team.
Ripley quickly clapped back at Cargill by accusing her of defaming her and breaking the fourth wall by bringing backstage matters into the public discussion. The exchange quickly drew attention among fans online.
This is not the first time Cargill has reportedly been involved in backstage tension. In the past, there were reports of issues between her and Shayna Baszler, which also created some discussion behind the scenes.
WWE Hall Of Famer Says Jade Cargill’s Controversy Could Have Been Avoided
Speaking about the situation on the DukeLovesRassling podcast on March 7, 2026, D-Von Dudley shared his thoughts. The WWE Hall of Famer suggested that this whole controversy might have been avoided if Jade Cargill had spent some time developing in WWE NXT.
“She had never been in NXT, and that was a mistake. Maybe she should have gone to NXT first. If she had gotten that training before going to the main roster, we probably wouldn’t even be having this conversation.”
“I understand that she has the look and the physique, but bringing her straight from AEW to the main roster was not the right move. If you look at her time in AEW, there’s a good chance she really needed that time in NXT. It wouldn’t have hurt her to spend some time there, get proper training, and then move up to the main roster.”
“She’s a really nice person outside the ring, but it feels like they brought her up mainly because of the look she has. If you want someone to become a star, you can’t just bring them up because they look the part. You have to make sure they can perform the part before putting them on the main roster. That’s what’s missing. And now it’s kind of backwards, because once someone is already on the main roster, it’s harder to send them back to NXT.”
When WWE signs new wrestlers, they usually go through the NXT system to improve their in-ring work and mic skills before moving to the main roster. However, that was not the case for Jade Cargill, as she was drafted directly to the main roster and quickly received a major push from the company.
