WWE Legend Urges Triple H To Give Husband Title Shot: “Watch Him Soar”
A WWE legend has urged Chief Content Officer Triple H to move his husband into a championship storyline following his performance at WrestleMania 42.
CJ Perry (aka Lana) is currently signed to WWE under a “Legends” contract. While she has officially retired from in-ring competition, her husband, Rusev, continues to compete in WWE on Monday Night RAW.
Recently, Perry opened up about The Bulgarian Brute’s match at WrestleMania 42, making it clear that Rusev’s showing in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match should not go unnoticed and lead to a title program.
The match, held on Night Two at Allegiant Stadium, featured Penta defending his IC Title against Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Rey Mysterio, and Rusev in a high-risk contest.
Rusev was heavily involved in key moments despite not winning the title. He disrupted near-finishes, including stopping Je’Von Evans during a crucial ladder climb, and absorbed multiple high-impact spots. The match included several dangerous sequences, with competitors crashing into ladders and taking risks from elevated positions. Penta eventually retained the Intercontinental Championship by capitalizing on the closing stretch.
CJ Perry wants Triple H to push Rusev into the title picture after WWE WrestleMania
Writing in her column for Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned, Perry discussed her husband, Rusev’s performance, and the direction she believes WWE should take next. She pointed out that he used the opportunity to show a different side of his in-ring style, including multiple ladder spots that are not typically part of his matches. She wrote:
He said his plan was to stay grounded until the end, but instead that crazy Bulgarian beefcake went up the ladder, through the ladder, off the ladder and through the ladder.
She added that Rusev consistently delivers when given screen time and takes every opportunity seriously.
I have never been more proud of how Rusev once again got to show the world that if you give him any screen time, he’ll make the most of it.
CJ Perry closed with a clear message aimed at Triple H’s creative team, saying:
Now, point that brute toward a title program and watch him soar. [H/T RSN]
Despite not winning at The Show of Shows, Rusev’s performance has added momentum to discussions about his next move on the roster.
