A WWE Hall of Famer has provided an update on their health.

The last few years have been quite harsh to Jim Ross, who is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling. In 2021, he was diagnosed with skin cancer.

After being cancer-free for the next couple of years, he underwent a successful cancer surgery on his right hip.

In May 2025, JR revealed that he was suffering from colon cancer, which led to him undergoing another surgery. The following month, he claimed that he was cancer-free again.

Despite having gone through these ailments, the AEW commentator’s doctors have been monitoring him for possible Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Ross made the revelation during the recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast. The 74-year-old said that he met with his neurologist recently while stating that he had taken additional medical tests.

The former WWE great also admitted that he was in feeling fine; however, the tests helped the doctors monitor potential neurological owing to his ongoing health assessment.

Gives me a chance to get my ailments addressed. I had a positive doctor’s appointment with my neurologist—everyone’s getting in on it, man. They took a bunch of blood, ran some tests.

They’re worried about dementia or Alzheimer’s, and I’m like, ‘What the hell are you gonna do about it? There’s not a cure.’

Good Ol’ JR then claimed that he was committed to follow the recommendations of his doctors.

If there’s any medicine I should be taking preventatively, tell me what they are and I’ll do it. But you know, we’ll see how it works out. I’m going through a lot of tests. I don’t feel bad at all—I feel great, actually. But you know, getting old is a b****. [H/T: Ringside News]

WWE Legend To Return At AEW Double Or Nothing

Former WWE commentator Jim Ross has confirmed that he will be present during the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view on May 24.

While sharing details about his health, JR stated that he had been feeling good enough to travel to New York and that some of his test results showed the best results he had received in years.

I’m gonna be there. Gonna do some work. Don’t know exactly what yet, but whatever Tony Khan says, I’ll run the play. He’s so good to me in that respect. I don’t think he knows, as we speak, that I’m going to be available in Queens. We don’t talk about it. He’s got more on his plate than to worry about JR’s health.

JR also hoped that he got to call the “I Quit” match for the World Tag Team Championship between Cope & Cage and FTR. At the pay-per-view, Darby Allin will also defend his AEW World Championship in a Hair vs. Title match against MJF.

Jim Ross joined All Elite Wrestling in 2019 after leaving WWE. His last commentary duty was on the January 7, 2026, taping of Dynamite.
