WWE Introduce New Show Concept

Triple H WWE

WWE has the need, the need for speed as it looks like it could be bringing in a new show concept where the action will be fast and the matches short.

Fightful Select has reported that ahead of the December 15 edition of SmackDown, WWE held two matches that had “WWE Speed” logos on the sides of the ring.

Using stars from Raw, NXT, and the free agent pool, these matches had a five minute timer on them but it remains unclear if WWE Speed is going to be a new show in its own right.

WWE Speed Matches Take Place

Raw’s Bronson Reed defeated NXT star Nathan Frazer in a very quick bout while Cedric Alexander – who remains a free agent in WWE – faced off with Axiom of NXT. Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick were the announce team for the bouts and they were filmed as if they’d be broadcast but there is no confirmation if they will be.

On the December 15 SmackDown that aired after these matches, one WWE Superstar returned after several months out.
