WWE Hall Of Famer Confirms AEW Return At Double Or Nothing
AEW is scheduled to host its third pay-per-view of 2026 in May.
It is scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend on May 24, 2026, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York.
A match between Japanese wrestlers Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada for the International Championship has already been announced.
Takeshita and Okada are also part of the Don Callis Family, but their infighting has caused a lot of problems for other members, including their leader, Don Callis. AEW has even teased Takeshita’s potential departure from the faction.
While Tony Khan continues to build a strong card for the event, WWE Hall of Famer and commentator Jim Ross has confirmed his presence during the show.
While speaking on the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, the 74-year-old revealed that his booking for Double Or Nothing had been finalized.
I’m planning on being there—that’s my next booking, as it were. Tony Khan is so good about that. I see it all the time on social media—these guys are getting paid all this money and they’re not working. But I want to work—that’s the difference between me and other people.
Ross has also been dealing with physical ailments of late, recently enduring a frightening fall at home. Regardless, he is determined to be in his best physical shape when he reappears in May.
I want to work, but I’ve got to get steady walking, and I’m not gonna walk out to the ring with a walker or cane—I’m just too damn egocentric. [H/T: Ringside News]
Darby Allin Defends AEW World Championship On Dynamite
On April 18, Tony Khan confirmed that Darby Allin’s first World Championship defense will be against Tommaso Ciampa following his victory over MJF on April 15.
As the show opened on Wednesday, MJF came out, demanding that Allin won the title by using underhanded tactics, which he reiterated later in the night when Allin addressed the fans.
The former champion also demanded that the title be given back to him, to which Allin declined straightforwardly. The 33-year-old instead claimed that he wanted to be a fighting champion and he would defend the belt every week until he could not.
Shortly afterward, Ciampa made his way out, and both wrestlers put on a great back-and-forth match. Some time during the bout, The Psycho Killer got busted open and was bleeding for the remainder of the fight.
In the closing minutes, Allin put his challenger in a Scorpion Deathlock, to which he held on for an extended duration before forcing Ciampa to tap out.
After his victory, both wrestlers shook hands, sharing mutual respect toward one another.
The AEW Champion also found out his challenger for next week in Brody King. If he managed to keep his title until Double Or Nothing, he might defend it with Jim Ross in the building.
