WWE Bringing Back Hell In A Cell For WrestleMania 39

WWE Hell In A Cell

The battle between Edge and The Judgment Day will continue into WrestleMania 39 as the WWE Hall of Famer and Finn Balor will face off inside Hell In A Cell.

The Judgment Day has its roots in WrestleMania 38 when Edge defeated AJ Styles in a one-on-one match. Damian Priest caused a distraction at ringside to allow Edge to pick up the victory and a partnership was formed. The duo soon added Rhea Ripley to their ranks but what happened at the Hell In A Cell event in June 2022 proved pivotal.

The Judgment Day defeated Finn Balor, AJ Styles, and Liv Morgan in a six-person tag team match but on the following night’s Raw, Balor joined the group and he, Ripley, and Priest turned on Edge kicking him out of the group.

At Clash at the Castle in September 2022, the group added another member as Dominik Mysterio turned on his father and Edge to join the callous group.

Since then Edge and his wife Beth Phoenix have done battle against the group but now things could be coming to a head with Edge laying down a huge challenge on Raw in Providence, RI. Edge and Balor quickly agreed to a bout at WrestleMania 39 before The Rated-R Superstar revealed he wanted to face Balor inside Hell In A Cell.

Interestingly, Balor noted that he’d been to hell before but couldn’t handle his demons possibly hinting that his alter-ego will be the one taking to the ring on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The bout will be the fourth Hell In A Cell match in WrestleMania history with the last one taking place at WrestleMania 32 between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker.
