WWE Hall Of Famer Criticizes Current Generation For Being Easily Offended
This WWE Legend recently shared his feelings about the current generation of wrestlers and how they’re different from those from his time.
D-Von Dudley, one-half of the famous WWE tag team The Dudley Boyz, had a legendary career in the Stamford-based promotion both as a tag team competitor and during his singles run as Reverend D-Von.
He has worked with major stars of the era like Triple H, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Edie Guerrero, and The Rock, among others.
D-Von is now finding success on YouTube, where he shares his time as a pro-wrestler, backstage stories, and also opinions about the current product.
WWE Legend D-Von Dudley Says Current Gen Is Easily Offended
D-Von, who comes from the previous regime that ran WWE at a time when the company got away with a lot of offensive themes and ideas on television, is sure to be surprised at the lack of ability for wrestlers and people in general in the current day and age to hear or say anything offensive.
During an appearance on Jasmine St. Claire’s Krazy Train podcast, D-Von talks about how the current generation doesn’t take criticism very well.
A lot of people nowadays, it’s the generation, it’s not just the wrestlers, it’s the generation where this new generation is easily rattled so to speak and it’s like you can’t say anything without people being offended and things like that. So this generation is very different from the generation that I grew up with.
And you know, it’s just something that I would hope that would go back to the old school ways, but I don’t see it happening. You know, you can’t say this about somebody without them getting upset. You can’t say that. People take things so serious. It’s like, when is it okay to just be you?
And that seems to be the problem. You can’t because if you do, someone gets offended. Someone doesn’t understand it.
D-Von has been training and mentoring young talent post his retirement from wrestling, which is likely where his views of the new generation of wrestlers have taken shape.
