WWE Force TNA To Pull Title Match From AMC Debut
It seems that WWE was behind the decision for TNA to abandon one advertised title match from its AMC debut.
TNA Impact will have its biggest show in several years when it debuts on AMC on January 15th. Calling in help from its partners in WWE, AJ Styles will appear on the show, although perhaps not in the role that TNA originally wanted him for.
Impact on AMC will also see Mike Santana challenge Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Championship. The Hardys will team with Elijah to clash with Order 4, while the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title will be defended as The IInspiration put their gold on the line against The Elegance Brand.
WWE Cancel TNA Title Match
TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater was originally advertised to defend his gold against Myron Reed, but it looks like that match is off, and Reed is gone from the company. Fightful Select has reported that they were told that Reed would have happily worked that date, but the match was cancelled as WWE possibly wanted Leon Slater to appear on its European tour.
Myron Reed and his Rascalz teammates have all now signed deals with AEW. WWE and TNA are currently working in partnership, but that hasn’t stopped the sports entertainment giant from poaching Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry when their TNA deals ended, and it’s safe to assume that Leon Slater could be the next to jump ship.
