WWE Drops Big Backlash 2026 Bombshell
Backlash 2026 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida
WWE recently dropped a major update regarding the upcoming premium live event. During this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, the company announced that the first hour of Backlash will air on ESPN2, starting at 6 p.m. ET this Saturday.
The matches officially confirmed for this live simulcast window include the United States Championship match between Trick Williams (the champion) and Sami Zayn, as well as a singles match between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.
While the first hour will be available on cable, the remainder of the event will stream exclusively on ESPN’s digital platform in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
Other matches announced for the event include Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu, a clash between Iyo Sky and Asuka, and a tag team match featuring The Miz and Kit Wilson taking on Danhausen and a mystery partner.
Danhausen In Hunt For A Tag Team Partner At WWE Backlash
Following WWE’s official announcement of Danhausen’s match at Backlash 2026, where he is set to team with a mystery partner against The Miz and Kit Wilson, Danhausen took to social media in search of a tag team partner.
In a Twitter post, he called on several legendary names like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Undertaker, AJ Styles, John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and more to come out of retirement and team up with him.

In addition to all these blockbuster matches, John Cena is also set to make an appearance at Backlash. He recently took to X to announce his return, promising fans some history-making news at the upcoming premium live event.
