WWE Deletes Controversial NXT Segment From X (Twitter)
A segment was deleted by WWE’s X/Twitter account after fan backlash.
In the main event of WWE NXT on March 3rd, Ricky Saints hosted “The Absolute Experience” for the first time ever.
The idea was that Ricky Saints would sing songs to mock his Vengeance Day opponent, the NXT Champion Joe Hendry. It’s something Hendry has done in TNA and WWE, so Saints wanted to do it too.
There was an issue with Ricky’s performance; he doesn’t play the guitar, and he did a poor job singing, even though he’s a charismatic guy. During the performance, Ricky criticized Joe Hendry’s style and sang “I believe in Ricky” again. There were also cheesy moments like when Ricky bragged about rhyming shirt and hurt.
As the segment continued, Ricky complained about the guitar, and someone brought out another guitar. It was a guy wearing a mask, and it was revealed to be Joe Hendry, the NXT Champion.
After ruining the concert, Hendry smashed a guitar into Ricky’s back. Hendry tried to do more damage, but The Vanity Project headed to the ring. Myles Borne ran out to make the save and hit clotheslines on TVP and a dropkick. Hendry performed a fallaway slam. Hendry and Borne cleared TVP from the ring. Hendry threw Ricky over the top, onto the floor where TVP was. Hendry and Borne raised their titles to end the show.
Most segments on NXT, Raw, SmackDown, and other shows are shared as clips on social media, but in this case, WWE decided to delete the clip of Ricky’s performance.
“WWE has deleted the clips of the poorly received Ricky Saints concert from their twitter, the only clips remaining are of Hendry attacking Ricky. accounts that embedded the video are just left with a dead link now💀💀💀.”

There are many fans who went on X to complain about the segment and bash how WWE is using Ricky Saints, while also trashing Saints for choosing to leave AEW and join WWE instead.
In this writer’s opinion, the Ricky Saints’ performance was intentionally poor to get him heat because he’s a heel. If he delivered a good performance, it might get him cheered, and clearly, this was done to make the fans hate him more and to cheer when Hendry attacked, which the fans did. In other words, the segment got the desired reaction.
If you are wondering, WWE did post the full 8-minute segment on YouTube.
