Cody Rhodes shared an interesting story about a big company that recently sent him a cease-and-desist order.

The 3-time WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is on top of the world in WWE, but he can’t necessarily do what he wants.

Longtime fans of Cody Rhodes will know he’s a massive fan of the Zelda video games from Nintendo.

On a recent episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast with Kit Wilson as the guest, Cody Rhodes talked about how he had the Triforce symbol from The Legend of Zelda franchise on his wrestling boots from his first run. While showing off the Triforce symbol that is on his ring finger, Cody spoke about why it meant so much to him.

“I live that s***, dog. I thought [about] the principles of the Triforce, which are power, courage, and wisdom. For those who don’t know, Zelda’s the wise one, obviously Link is the one who’s got the courage, and power is Ganon. They make up the three parts of the Triforce. That’s the whole deal.”

The WWE Champion went on to explain how those same values can apply to wrestling as well.

“And I just liked the idea of thinking and leaning towards your own wisdom, or what you’ve learned and applying it, of being ambitious and wanting to be powerful, if you can, in a world that’s competitive, of sports and sports entertainment, and then having the courage to do it.

Here you are, you’re taking a dive, you bust your elbow. You’re gonna decide to take the dive the next night, and you bust your elbow even further. I thought it was just applicable.”

Even though Cody felt he had a personal connection with Zelda, the WWE Champ also revealed he had received a cease-and-desist letter over his use of Zelda.

“I also got a cease and desist from Nintendo. It was very kind, they weren’t… it was polite, they weren’t coming after anybody, I’m not the first guy to have the Triforce.” (H/T Ringsidenews)

Cody Rhodes Facing New Challenger For WWE Title

For the second week in a row, Cody Rhodes had his hands full with the former WWE World Champion Gunther on SmackDown.

On the May 8th edition of SmackDown, Rhodes called out Gunther after he was attacked by the powerful Australian on the May 1st SmackDown.

Instead of Gunther, Cody Rhodes was confronted by a longtime rival, the “Wise Man” Paul Heyman. Heyman informed Rhodes that he owed Gunther a favor due to Gunther wrestling Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, so Heyman did all he could to get Gunther a WWE Title shot against Rhodes at Clash in Italy on May 31st.

After Mr. Heyman informed Rhodes about what was going on, Gunther attacked Rhodes, but this time, Rhodes was ready for him and was able to clear the Austrian from the ring.

Rhodes said he doesn’t sweat Gunther just because he retired Goldberg, AJ Styles, and the greatest of all time (John Cena). Cody said that on SmackDown, he’s easy to find and hard to beat.

The Cody Rhodes-Gunther match isn’t officially set for Clash in Italy yet, but it’s likely to be one of the biggest matches at the show.
