WWE Might Make A Huge Change Soon; CM Punk Called Out TKO For This On RAW
CM Punk delivered a huge pipebomb promo on WWE Raw this week, which saw him target TKO.
The Second City Saint addressed the crowd on the April 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, sitting cross-legged in the ring, and delivered an intense promo.
He called out his WrestleMania 42 opponent, Roman Reigns, dubbing him “a loser, boring, and plastic,” and stated that The Tribal Chief only headlined 10 WrestleManias because of his family connections.
CM Punk also targeted The Rock in his pipe bomb promo, calling him a former Hollywood star who only holds influence because of his seat on the TKO board of directors.
CM Punk Calls Out TKO For High WrestleMania 42 Ticket Prices On WWE Raw
CM Punk also lambasted McAfee for talking about WrestleMania ticket sales on SmackDown last week. Then he took a shot at TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company, and criticized TKO CEO Ari Emanuel for inserting McAfee into the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes high-profile storyline.
The reigning World Heavyweight Champion demanded that TKO lower the ticket prices for WrestleMania to make them affordable for families. Commenting on CM Punk’s promo on Raw, Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez stated that WWE is clearly planning to make a huge change and lower ticket prices for its upcoming events.
“If it wasn’t obvious from Punk’s promo, it appears WWE is looking to lower ticket prices through the summer.”
WrestleMania is just two weeks away, and according to reports, ticket distribution for the biggest premium live event of the year is approximately 18.8% lower than it was for WrestleMania 41 at the same point last year. The major cause for WrestleMania 42 ticket sales being low is the high pricing, making it expensive for many average fans.
To combat sluggish sales, WWE has introduced several late-stage tactics, such as flash discounts. The company recently offered 25% off WrestleMania, the Hall of Fame, and surrounding Raw and SmackDown shows. WWE even called on John Cena to be the host of WrestleMania 42 to boost ticket sales.
