Ex-WWE Champion To Stone Cold: “I Want The Chance To Go Against You”
Ex-WWE Champion wants to face Stone Cold in a one-on-one match. The star in question here is Sgt Slaughter.
Slaughter and Stone Cold have never faced each other in a one-on-one wrestling match. However, they did cross paths in the late 1990s, when Slaughter was the on-screen WWF Commissioner whom Austin often rebelled against.
Sgt. Slaughter Challenges Stone Cold Steve Austin For A Singles Match
Sgt. Slaughter recently had an interview with Going Ringside, where he expressed his desire to face Stone Cold Steve Austin in a one-on-one match.
During Slaughter and Austin’s rivalry in the late 1990s, Slaughter had to take a lot of Stunners. Therefore, he said that he wants to face Austin and get payback for all those Stunners.
“I had to take a lot of stunners, but I never got any payback. So Steve Austin, if you happen to hear this, I want the chance to go against you, Stunner against Cobra Clutch.”
Steve Austin retired from in-ring competition in 2003 following severe neck injuries and multiple knee injuries. However, he returned for a one-off match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022. It was a no-holds-barred match in his home state of Texas, which he won.
Stone Cold Steve Austin has stated that he is not looking to return for another match, although he is open to making non-wrestling appearances. However, this challenge from Sgt. Slaughter might force him to return to the ring one final time.
Only time will tell if he accepts the challenge and graces the squared circle once again. A wrestling fan can only hope!
