WWE Star Big E’s Fiancée Almost Dated AEW Star Before Meeting Him
WWE star Big E is engaged to Kris Yim, Michin’s sister. They announced their engagement in May 2025.
In a new interview with What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, SmackDown star Michin revealed that her sister, Kris, almost dated AEW star Shelton Benjamin before she met the former New Day member.
Michin and Shelton Benjamin have a very close brother-sister-like relationship. They are often seen insulting each other on social media, as siblings do.
WWE Star Michin Says Her Family Loves AEW Star Shelton Benjamin
During her recent interview, Michin told Stephanie McMahon that Shelton has been part of her life for almost two decades. Even her family adores him as she does. Michin added that her family loves Shelton so much that her dad even tried to set him up with her sister, Kris, before Kris met Big E.
“He’s been in my life almost two decades now, my family loves him, he is my family. We’re tight. I always say that’s my big brother, my family loves him. My dad tried to get him and my sister to get together. They got Big E.”
Big E retired from active competition in 2022 following a severe neck injury. He sustained the injury on the March 12, 2022, episode of Friday Night SmackDown during a match against Ridge Holland and Sheamus.
Holland delivered an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Big E on the ringside floor. The latter accidentally landed on the top of his head and broke his neck, with fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae. He officially announced his retirement from in-ring competition on October 9, 2025.
Although he is no longer competing in WWE, he continues to work with the Stamford-based company as a broadcaster, analyst, and media ambassador.
