WWE Believe They Can Sign Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has been a key part of AEW since the formation of the company in 2019, but now the former AEW World Champion looks to be on the radar of WWE.

Omega was named as one of the four Executive Vice Presidents in Tony Khan’s upstart company alongside The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes. The Bucks and Omega are the current AEW Trios Champions while Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022, and is on the verge of competing in the main event of WrestleMania 39.

Fightful Select has now issued a report on Kenny Omega’s contract status, saying that sources have noted Tony Khan has said that time “could be” added to Omega’s contract after injury issues caused him to miss a substantial amount of time from the ring.

An AEW talent did note however that given Omega’s “good representation” that clause could be negotiated, and there is a belief that the injury time hasn’t been added to Omega’s deal so far.

WWE is said to have an interest in Kenny Omega, and several in that company are said to believe that they have a chance of signing the Canadian star. Omega is said to have a “positive relationship” with WWE and Triple H following negotiations between the two parties in 2018.

It was also noted that Kenny Omega’s AEW contract has a provision that he can appear for New Japan Pro Wrestling as long as it didn’t interfere with AEW duties – something that might not be forthcoming in a WWE deal.
