WWE Adds New Title Match To NXT No Mercy
The NXT No Mercy card has been boosted further as WWE announce a new title match for that show.
Ethan Page caused a stir when he unveiled a brand new NXT North American Title belt that paid tribute to his Canadian heritage.
Page has followed in the footsteps of Bret Hart and Lance Storm as he antagonises US audiences with his love for the Great White North. That caused him to catch the eye of Tavion Heights, and the two men have been embroiled in a heated feud ever since.
Page teamed with Chelsea Green to defeat Heights and Tyra Mae Steele in a mixed tag team match. Bu Heights got a measure of revenge when he defeated the NXT North American Champion in a patriotic flag match. After that bout, WWE fans were shocked to see the return of Tyler Breeze, and it was Breeze who claimed a title shot at NXT Homecoming.
Ethan Page Defending WWE NXT Gold At No Mercy
Ethan Page managed to see off the threat of Breeze, and it was then announced that Ethan Page would defend his title at No Mercy on September 27th against Tavion Heights.
Also scheduled for No Mercy was Oba Femi defending his NXT Championship against Ricky Saints, but that match could now be up in the air. TNA World Champion Trick Williams will clash with Femi on the September 23rd edition of WWE NXT, with both their titles on the line in a winner-take-all match. Therefore, the winner of that bout will meet Saints at No Mercy.
NXT Homecoming saw a huge surprise as a released WWE star made their shock return to TV just a few short months after their time as a talent came to an end.
