The much loved GM Mode is set to return to a WWE video game for the first time in over a decade with WWE 2K22 according to a new report.
The last time such a form of gameplay was available in a WWE game was in SmackDown Vs. Raw 2008 and was known as ‘WWE 24/7 Mode.’
Now a new report from Michael Straw of Sports Gamers Online, suggests that the mode that had been a big hit with fans could be returning.
Straw noted that a source told him that it had “long been a desire” of the development team as well as fans to bring GM Mode back. With the game taking a year off in 2020, this presented the perfect opportunity for it to return in WWE 2K22. The report states that one source told SGO that it was a top priority to bring the mode back.
“It was a top priority. The fans clearly wanted it, and the team knew that they add the ammo to get it approved and in.”
GM Mode lets players become the General Manager of a WWE brand and fantasy book to their heart’s content as they look to secure brand supremacy in the company. The player is in control of booking and financial decisions that determine how successful their brand will be.
