William Regal WWE TV Role Teased

William Regal

It seems there are those in WWE that want to see William Regal back on TV and a role for the star could well have been hinted at.

The 28th of May edition of NXT was a night full of surprises as TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace was revealed as the next challenger for the NXT Women’s Title. Grace will take on Roxanne Perez for that championship at Battleground on June 9th.

The night ended with another shock. As Lash Legend questioned NXT Champion Trick Williams about the recent attacks on her Meta-Four the lights went out. When they came back on former AEW star Ethan Page made his WWE debut and attacked Trick Williams before he revealed he was behind the other assaults as well.

Did WWE Tease A New Role For William Regal?

Fightful Select noted Charlie Dempsey’s appearance on the show had him discussing the No Quarter Catch Crew needing structure now that he has lost the Heritage Cup.

That could be significant as pitches are said to have been made dating months back about having William Regal acting as a mentor for the group. Regal is, of course, the father of Charlie Dempsey and had a prominent managerial role during his time in AEW for the Blackpool Combat Club.

Regal asked to leave AEW at the end of 2022, requesting that Tony Khan not exercise his right to extend his contract by another year. A condition was put on that request with William Regal unable to take up a role on WWE TV for the time that he would have been under his AEW deal but that stipulation has now expired.

Regal appeared on NXT in early 2024 where he welcomed Ava to her role as the brand’s General Manager, a role that he once held.
