Why Was Rhea Ripley Back On NXT?

Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley made her stunning return to NXT, but what was the former Women’s World Champion doing there?

Perhaps there is no better example of the success of the developmental program in WWE than Rhea Ripley. Ripley graduated from NXT UK to NXT to the main roster, going on to have incredible success, winning the Royal Rumble, competing at WrestleMania, and winning multiple world championships.

Currently, Ripley is involved in an ongoing issue with the Kabuki Warriors, as they take issue with her friendship with IYO SKY. SKY warned Ripley to keep her distance, but The Eradicator has no intention of keeping a wide berth from Asuka and Kairi Sane.

On Raw, Ripley came to the aid of Nikki Bella after she was involved in a backstage confrontation with the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. That led to Bella losing her first match on Raw in ten years.

And now Ripley has returned to her roots.

Rhea Ripley Targets Fatal Influence

NXT is preparing for a Homecoming at Full Sail University as the brand returns to its original home. Many former members of the NXT roster are expected to be part of that show on September 16th, but one week before then, Ripley made her return, and she didn’t come alone.

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne berated her Fatal Influence teammates, Jazmyn Nyx and Fallon Henley, after they failed to secure a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Jayne claimed she was the greatest NXT Women’s Champion of all time, which led to the shock return of Stephanie Vaquer, Tiffany Stratton, and Rhea Ripley.

The three former NXT Women’s Champions took out Fatal Influence to stand tall as the show went off the air.
