Why Mariah May To WWE Is Not A Done Deal

Mariah May

Mariah May could be taking her glamour to WWE but suggestions the AEW star leaving is a done deal have proved to be wide of the mark.

At Revolution, Mariah May lost a bloody battle to long-time rival “Timeless” Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s Title. The “Hollywood Ending” capped off a storyline that began when May signed with the company back in November 2023.

Mariah May then went on to beat Storm for the AEW Women’s Title at All In, before losing it back to her great rival at Grand Slam Australia in February 2025. But despite the storyline being met with great acclaim, May has been missing since Revolution, when that feud came to an end.

Reports have suggested The Glamour’s AEW contract could be ending in 2025, and WWE is said to know Mariah May wants to leave AEW. But it seems any deal is a long way from being done.

Mariah May On Verge Of AEW Exit?

Fightful Select has now reported that despite WWE being on May’s radar, there is a belief that May is simply maximising her negotiating power and isn’t necessarily looking to leave Tony Khan’s company.

The report noted that suggestions May is already on an internal WWE list are false and that no “internal incoming” list exists. The company does have an internal roster page that NJPW star Jeff Cobb has been on for a month. The difference is that Cobb has not been under NJPW contract during that time, whereas Mariah May is still under her AEW deal.
