What Pi**ed Off Stone Cold Steve Austin About WWE WrestleMania 41
The legendary “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is still upset about something from WWE WrestleMania 41.
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin became a 2-time WWE Hall of Famer during WrestleMania 41 weekend when his iconic WrestleMania 13 match with Bret Hart was the first match inducted into the Hall of Fame.
On WrestleMania 41 Sunday, Steve Austin appeared on a 4-wheeler that he drove around the ring before going into the ring to announce the attendance for that night’s event. While driving around the ring, Austin hit the barricade, and there were fans, especially one, who got hurt because of it.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Stone Cold recalled that 4-wheeler crashing moment and admitted he’s still “pi**ed off” about it.
“You know what’s funny? Because they’ll put something on the ‘Gram, and people say, ‘Oh no, no, no. He’s too old. Let the current talent have the spotlight…’ Let the current talent have the spotlight of course. But, if I can go out there and do something, that’d be fine.
But God damn, when I crashed that four-wheeler last year up there against that wall, man, you talk about sh**ting the bed big time. I was so pi**ed off about that.
Because I was looking forward to going out there and announcing the attendance, and then, you know, watching the show, and what kind of show the superstars are gonna put on, and man, I sh*t the bed on the big stage so, we’ll see if they have me back and if they do, that’s cool.
But, I always say, man, they got a pretty good roster. So I think those guys, and gals, they need all the time.” (H/T Fightful)
Steve Austin Amazed By Longevity Of “Austin 3:16” Legacy
Today’s date is March 16th, so, of course, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is being celebrated all over social media on wrestling accounts, sports accounts, and everywhere else for his legendary “Austin 3:16” promo from the King of the Ring PPV in June 1996.
Nearly 30 years after that Austin 3:16 promo, Stone Cold talked about what it means to him.
“Almost three decades and it’s something for it to still be a thing. You can’t give yourself your own nickname and make it something real cool. You just get it bestowed upon you by your friends.
So, I didn’t declare 3:16 Day as my day, but it just seems to be the case. I’m super proud of that moment and proud to be talking to you 30 years later about something I did way back when on a whim.”
As for the March 16 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Steve Austin is not expected to be there, but he wants WWE to celebrate the current stars and support the product just like they did when he was a wrestler.
It’s 3:16.
