Two Qualifiers Set for Next Week’s NXT Championship Ladder Match
Oba Femi surprised the entire NXT Universe last week at New Year’s Evil when he decided to relinquish his title at the end of the show. He successfully defended the title against Leon Slater after an intense match between the two.
With the Ruler set to move to the main roster, NXT General Manager Ava addressed the future of the title as she opened tonight’s show and explained that the winner of a six-man ladder match will be crowned the new champion.
The match is set to take place on the February 3 episode of NXT. Ricky Saints became the first person to qualify for the ladder match and announced the first two qualification matches as well.

Saints and Ava reached a compromise that sees him qualify for the ladder match without competing, and he then announced the participants of next week’s matches.
