Triple H Honors WWE Figure Who Passes Away At 75
Triple H wrote a touching message in honor of a late, great WWE contributor who passed away.
The WWE family lost a big name from the company’s past on February 18th when it was announced that former WWE director Kerwin Silfies passed away at the age of 75.
It was reported by PWInsider that Silfies was privately dealing with health issues, and he lived in Florida in his later years.
During his WWE run, Silfies was the Director for nearly all of WWE’s programming, which obviously meant he had a huge role in the growth of the company from the time of the first WrestleMania all the way to the modern-day product.
Silfies had a long run in WWE starting around 1985 until he was furloughed in 2020 when WWE made a lot of cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Silfies never returned to WWE.
Writing on social media, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque wrote a touching message about Kerwin.
Today, the @WWE family lost one of our beloved members. Kerwin Silfies was a huge part of the company’s programming since the mid-1980s.
Over his 35+ year tenure with WWE production, he directed countless episodes of Raw and Smackdown, PLEs, and of course WrestleMania.
With a dry wit and an unmatched passion for his work and his coworkers, Kerwin affected hundreds of employees and millions of fans. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.

The name “Kerwin” was also used for a short-lived Chavo Guerrero character in 2005 known as Kerwin White. The character did not last long before being taken off television.
AEW Also Paid Tribute To Former WWE Director Kerwin Silfies
On the February 18th edition of AEW Dynamite, announcers Tony Schiavone and Bryan Danielson also paid tribute to Silfies. Schiavone worked for WWE for one year in the late 1980s, and Danielson had a long run in the company as Daniel Bryan. When Danielson was shown on camera, he was in tears as he thanked Silfies for the impact he had on Bryan’s life.
AEW announcer Taz also wrote on social media about Silfies being a super person and a great director, with whom Taz worked a lot in WWE in the 2000s as a wrestler and announcer.
I can’t explain what a super person & great director Kerwin was. I work with him for many years in WWE on the road & in studio. His passion for great Tv in the wrestling biz was strong. This man once was working in the studio thru an actually heart attack & kept working!! Very sad to hear this. I hope they put him in their WWE HOF. He belongs. Prayers & support to his family. RIP
It’s very likely that WWE will also pay tribute to Silfies on the next episodes of SmackDown on February 20 and Raw on February 22.
