Triple H & Stephanie McMahon Call Out Chris Jericho Over WWE Botch

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon addressed Chris Jericho’s embarrasing botch in WWE.

Before signing with AEW, Chris Jericho wrestled for the WWE for several years. During this time, he was involved in many iconic matches and moments. His WWE debut resulted in one of the most memorable moments in RAW history.

Over the years, Chris Jericho and Stephanie McMahon would have many run-ins against each other. Jericho was very good at insulting Stephanie McMahon. Some of the insults he would hurl at her are still remembered to this day. During promos, he would often find a way to poke fun at her expense. As a result, he was on the receiving end of a few stiff slaps from Stephanie McMahon.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon recall funny segment with Chris Jericho

During an episode of What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Triple H said that Stephanie McMahon’s slaps became so famous that anybody who flinched before being hit would be made fun of in the locker room.

“And it became also the thing that we would do with each other, like, moments in time, like, if you cringe before she hits you, Jericho, it would become comedy fodder for everybody in the locker room.”

Stephanie McMahon recalled an incident where DX where holding down Chris Jericho for the former to slap him. However, Jericho was wincing before McMahon could slap him.

“I’ll never forget, because it was DX and they were holding Jericho, and he started making this face.”

Triple H continued the story, stating that Stephanie wound up to slap Chris Jericho, but paused mid way to talk some trash to the former World Champion. However, Jericho was caught wincing.

“Steph wound up, but she kind of stayed there for a second to talk some trash before she hit him. And then by the time she wound up, he thought she was coming and he went (winced)”

Stephanie then said that The Game stopped her and called out his botch for everybody to see.

“And then Paul stops me. He’s like, no, wait, wait, wait! And calls it out. And he’s like, look at his face! Look at his face!”

Triple H then said that by the time Jericho relaxed his facial muscles, Stephanie slapped him.

“And then let her go, so by the time he stopped and relaxed, she slapped the s**t out of him.”

Chris Jericho’s botch made for an entertaining moment for everyone involved.
