Top Star Allegedly Walked Away From WWE

A top star has recently parted ways with WWE for now. The star in question is none other than WWE commentator Pat McAfee.

McAfee had been absent from the Stamford-based promotion since June 2025. He did make a one-time return for Wrestlepalooza in September 2025. Reports previously claimed that he was scheduled to return to the Stamford-based promotion soon. However, in a twist of events, Pat McAfee recently stated that he is taking a break from the pro wrestling company.

I don’t think you ever say never, especially with WWE. But right now it does not feel like it is something is supposed to happen. Feels like that business has kind of passed me by a little bit. I grew up loving it, dreamed to work in it. Feel honored that I had the opportunity to work alongside the GOAT Michael Cole. I feel like the biz is in a good spot without me. I’ll continue to watch. Vince Russo Claims Pat McAfee Walked Away From WWE Because He Doesn’t Need The Money

Addressing McAfee’s comments about leaving WWE, veteran Vince Russo shared his thoughts on a recent episode of The Coach and Bro Show. Russo claimed that Pat McAfee has walked away from the Stamford-based promotion simply because he does not need the money.

“Guys at this level, who don’t need their [WWE] money, these guys will walk away at any time. McAfee walked away.”
