Tony Khan recently appeared on the Coach & Bro show and talked about his meeting withShane McMahon.

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon’s son Shane McMahon (also known by his ring name Shane O’ Mac) was an integral part of WWE’s product in the late 90s and the 2000s.

Shane was known for his risk-taking and death-defying moves, always willing to put his body on the line for entertainment.

Shane made a name for himself in WWE, but tensions between him and his father grew in their professional life, which led him to eventually quit the company his father built in order to try and save their private relationship, something Shane has said in interviews that he cherishes a lot.

Shane would return to WWE briefly under Triple H’s regime, but got injured and quit again.

Recently, AEW CEO Tony Khan met up with Shane McMahon, and rumours began to spread that the son of former wrestling mogul Vince McMahon was interested in joining WWE’s current rival wrestling promotion.

When asked about it on the Coach & Bro show, Khan opened up about the conversation he ended up having with Shane, the one time that they met at an airport.

Tony Khan Says He Had An Interesting Conversation With Shane McMahon

Tony Khan says that Shane McMahon was the one who initiated the meeting with the AEW founder. The two had a private meeting near Arlington Airport.

Shane has publicly stated that AEW is not WWE, but Khan’s revelation about their conversation talks about his side of the story.

The AEW founder says that he had a pleasant conversation with McMahon, and it was a one-off that Shane had initiated. The meeting came about when the pair was in the state of Texas.

I had one really pleasant conversation with Shane. Shane reached out to me and said he’d love to get together and asked where I was going to be. I was going to be in Dallas—we were doing shows in Arlington, Texas—and I said, ‘Yeah, that’s where we’re going to be.

Khan says that the two had a good conversation at the airport.

We had a good conversation. We talked for a few hours in the airport. But I only had one really nice talk with him.

Tony Khan then revealed that as the conversation went on, it was clear to him that Shane McMahon wasn’t planning on being an on-screen character in AEW. Khan went on to call Shane an “interesting guy”.

He seemed like an interesting guy, but I don’t think the role of being an on-screen person in a wrestling show seemed like something he was interested in. I don’t think he went into it thinking, ‘I want to be a character on this guy’s show.’

Khan’s opening up about the conversation changes the narrative. The rumour that Shane missed an opportunity to join AEW is now debunked with this revelation from its CEO.
