Tony Khan Makes Blockbuster Announcement Regarding AEW’s Revenue
AEW founder Tony Khan has recently made a huge announcement.
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was founded in 2019 by Tony Khan, along with wrestlers Kenny Omega, current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, and brothers Matt and Nick Jackson.
Khan and AEW also acquired the promotion Ring of Honor (RoH) in 2022. The company has since grown in popularity and is the second-largest wrestling promotion in the world after WWE.
Tony Khan Reveals AEW’s Revenue
Tony Khan recently gave some insight into AEW’s business.
AEW is WWE’s biggest challenger brand and serves as an alternative to their product as the second-biggest wrestling promotion in the world. It is backed by the Khan family, but the company reportedly lost money in the first few years. However, its latest TV deal brought more stability to the promotion.
On the media call for AEW: Double or Nothing, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics asked if AEW is profitable.
Our revenue is the highest it’s ever been. I can’t comment on where we stand in terms of every expense year-to-year. Certainly, this is going to be the most revenue we’ve ever generated and the strongest financial outlook for the company ever. I’m reinvesting in a number of projects, including digital projects, to grow the company for the future.
Khan said that although he doesn’t have the details handy, the revenue that the company is bringing in is the highest it’s ever been.
As far as how it’s accounted, I don’t have all the figures in front of me, but I can say it’s by far the most revenue we’ve ever brought in, and the future is the healthiest outlook. I’ll continue to reinvest in the business, developing new platforms and trying to open up new territories to grow the company.
We’re launching some new projects and some international developments that will require investment that I think our smart moves. We are strongly positioned for the future of AEW. Now is the perfect time for me to double down on AEW because we’re going to be around for a very, very long time,” he said.
AEW has expanded its global reach lately with the MyAEW platform for overseas fans.
