The Usos Announce Huge Plans For Roman Reigns On Smackdown

The Usos have something big in mind for their cousin Roman Reigns when Smackdown heads to Madison Square Garden.

It was this past Saturday in the main event of Money in the Bank when The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) faced off against their cousin Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and their younger brother Solo Sikoa in a battle of The Bloodline.

That match had the raucous London crowd screaming at the top of their lungs while also coming up with some unique songs/chants that infuriated the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns, who told the “Wise Man” Paul Heyman that he hated those fans.

There was a lot of chaos during the match with a referee bump and Reigns/Sikoa hitting a Spear/Samoan Spike combo move that made it seem like they were going to win. Reigns even stacked The Usos on top of eachother during a pin attempt, but Jimmy and Jey both kicked out at the same time.

After that amazing nearfall, it was all Usos. They were superkicking Reigns and Solo a lot while poor Solo missed a splash on the commentary table and went crashing through the table as a result. Jey got the tag from his brother Jimmy and that would lead to Jey hitting an Uso Splash on his cousin Roman for the pinfall win.

That wasn’t just any pinfall win, though. It was a significant victory because it was the first time Reigns had been pinned in a WWE ring since December 2019.

As for what’s next, this Friday’s Smackdown on July 7th takes place at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Usos tweeted that they will be holding the “Trial Of Roman Reigns” on the show.

“This Friday Night at Madison Square Garden, Live on Smackdown, we’re putting The Tribal Chief on trial! After all this time, it’s TRIBAL COURT: THE TRIAL OF THE TRIBAL CHIEF ROMAN REIGNS! #TheRealOnes”

This would be the second “trial” featuring The Bloodline because there was a segment in January of this year when they did the Trial of Sami Zayn. That was a huge success, so WWE is looking to follow up on it The Usos putting the Tribal Chief on trial in MSG.

All of this should lead to the official announcement of Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso at SummerSlam on August 5th. It’s not official, but if it does happen then it would be Roman’s first televised title defense in four months going back to WrestleMania 39 when he beat Cody Rhodes. It will be Jey Uso getting the chance to beat his own cousin to put an end to Roman’s legendary championship reign.
