The Undertaker’s New WWE Role Confirmed By Stephanie McMahon

The Undertaker

The Undertaker is becoming increasingly influential backstage.

AAA hosted Triplemania XXXIII on August 16, and WWE’s fingerprints were all over the show. From featuring in several matches, including the main event, to Triple H, Nick Khan, and Shawn Michaels appearing at the start of the event, the company’s presence was impossible to ignore.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Triple H noted that The Undertaker has become a “driving force” behind AAA, while it was reported that he’s expected to be involved with the brand going forward.

Shawn Michaels was also on hand for the event, and referenced in the video, playing into reports and fan theories that AAA will eventually become a branch of NXT.

The Undertaker Is Heavily Involved In WWE’s Expansion

On the latest edition of her What’s Your Story? podcast, Stephanie McMahon sat down with Roman Reigns to discuss all things WWE and beyond. During the conversation, Reigns asked whether ‘Taker and Michaels would be heavily involved in AAA or whether Triplemania was a “one-time thing.”

Interestingly, McMahon appeared to confirm that they’ll be playing a big role behind the scenes.

“I think they’re involved. For sure.”

During the same podcast, Roman Reigns admitted he has no issue with turning down creative ideas from Triple H. He explained that The Game came up with “all kinds of stuff” while he held the Undisputed WWE Championship, but he preferred to work on his own material and direction.

Reigns said it came down to wanting to look beyond what he called the “low-hanging fruit.”

The former World Champion is set to return to action at Clash In Paris, where he’ll meet Bronson Reed. The match will be just Reigns’ fifth of 2025, and only his second singles match since losing the title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 in 2024.

During Triplemania, it was announced that Worlds Collide will return on September 12 in Las Vegas.
