The Rock’s Daughter, Ava, Makes WWE Revelation: “I Would’ve Loved To Do That”
The Rock’s Daughter, Ava, just made a huge confession.
Being the daughter of The Rock, Ava had a lot of pressure on her when she first signed with WWE. Fans and critics had a lot of expectations for her. She was put in Joe Gacy’s faction, Schism, in 2022.
However, Ava didn’t have a meteoric rise like her father. Instead, she was quite green in the ring and could not cut a promo. Her lack of in-ring skills became evident as soon as she stepped in the ring. Despite her lack of in-ring skills, WWE didn’t fire Ava. Instead, she moved on to become the General Manager of NXT after Schism disbanded. This also meant that Ava was a regular feature on TV. As GM, Ava managed to have her moments on the mic. However, she never competed in the ring again. Earlier this year, Ava chose not to renew her contract, and she left the WWE.
During an interview on The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi, Ava revealed that she wanted to try out a lot of characters, but she ended up becoming the GM of NXT. However, she still had fun in the role. She also revealed that she wanted to portray a creepy goth character.
“I feel like there were always a lot of characters that I wanted to try, but then I ended up being the general manager, which was more authoritative and already set for me. I still had a lot of fun with that because I got to interact with so many different talents. That was a great part of that. I definitely wanted to be more of a creepy goth character. I would’ve loved to do that,” she said. [H/T Fightful]
Ava revealed why she left WWE
During the same interview, Ava said that she is grateful for her time in WWE, but she was ready to try something new and doesn’t regret leaving the Stamford-based promotion.
“Oh man, it was… there wasn’t one particular thing unfortunately. It was like a lot of things and had been something that was on my mind for a while. And like I am so grateful for my time at WWE. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
“I did. I got to live out the dream that me always wanted to. But I think it was just, it was time for something new. It was time for something different. And I really… I don’t regret leaving and I’m really happy now.”
It remains to be seen what’s next for The Rock’s daughter.
