The One Aspect Of Sting’s Retirement Tony Khan Was Adamant About

Sting AEW

Sting brought the curtain down on his legendary career at AEW Revolution but it seems there was one aspect of his last match Tony Khan was adamant about.

Sting finished his wrestling career in fine fashion at Revolution as he and Darby Allin teamed up one last time to defend the AEW Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks.

The brutal and bloody match was a wild affair with tables, chairs, ladders, and even panes of glass being introduced as the four men pulled out all the stops to give The Icon a fitting send-off.

While it is the custom in the wrestling business that those leaving the business do so with a loss to build up the next star, Sting can say his career ended with a win and can forever boast a perfect unbeaten record in AEW.

Tony Khan Demanded A Sting Win In His Final Match

Fightful Select reported more about Sting’s final match and revealed that the decision to have Sting and Darby Allin win was made several weeks ago and that Tony Khan was specifically adamant that Sting win and retire as a champion.

With his in-ring career now over, Tony Khan has vacated the AEW Tag Team Championship and revealed a tournament will take place to crown new champions.
