Swerve Strickland To Challenge For Gold At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
Swerve Strickland is targeting another AEW championship.
Following his win alongside Will Ospreay at All In, Swerve Strickland caught the attention of Kazuchika Okada.
Their victory over the Young Bucks has already had a huge impact, and the Jackson brothers have been stripped of their EVP status.
On the July 30 edition of Dynamite, the Young Bucks defeated The Outrunners in the quarter-finals of the World Tag Team Championship Eliminator tournament. But they weren’t done there. After the match, The Bucks and Okada continued the beatdown, only for Strickland to run in and make the save.
Swerve Strickland Heading To Forbidden Door
On a special live episode of Collision on July 31, Strickland laid down the challenge, and Okada officially accepted. The pair will now meet at Forbidden Door in London on August 24.
It’s also been announced that “Timeless” Toni Storm will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Athena. The challenger earned her shot after winning the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at All In.
