Sting Predicts AEW World Title Run For Popular Star
Sting expects one star to win the AEW World Championship in 2025.
After making his shock AEW debut at the end of 2020, Sting formed an unlikely but impressive partnership with Darby Allin, which saw the veteran take the daredevil under his wing on and off screen.
During this period, the WWE Hall of Famer returned to action, wrestling relatively regularly before finally retiring at Revolution 2024. In fitting fashion, the veteran rode off into the sunset as one-half of the World Tag Team Champions alongside Allin.
Sting regularly talked up Allin as a future World Champion while working with him, and that opinion hasn’t changed in retirement.
Sting Says Darby Allin Will Be World Champion
During an appearance at the AEW All In Texas ticket on-sale party, Sting hyped up the event before predicting big things for his former tag team partner.
“Because I’ve known since day one, you are world championship caliber…..I knew from the beginning…..Sometime in 2025, I am predicting this is the future AEW World Champion right here.”
With regard to his own future, Sting said he won’t be getting in the ring, but hinted he could make an appearance at All In on July 12th.
“No more matches, but my eyes will be watching for sure. And as far as me coming to All In next July, all I can say is the only thing for sure about Sting is nothing’s for sure.”
At the same event, Bryan Danielson admitted he doesn’t know whether he’ll wrestle again. Despite ending his full-time career at WrestleDream, the American Dragon remained adamant that he’d continue to wrestle.
However, it seems things are no longer as clear-cut, following confirmation that he needs surgery on his neck.
