Stephanie Vaquer Issues Emotional Statement Amid Uncertain WWE Future
Stephanie Vaquer is currently dealing with an injury.
2025 was a highly successful year for La Primera. She became a double champion in NXT in early 2025 and then jumped over to the main roster to have a solid run.
Only months later, after she joined Monday Night RAW, she became the WWE Women’s World Champion after defeating Io Sky at Wrestlepalooza. She even became the 2025 Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
However, 2026 has not been very kind to her so far. At the beginning of the year, Stephanie Vaquer sustained an ankle injury and has been making appearances in a walking boot in all her appearances. She is cleared for contact, but doctors have advised her not to wrestle.
That is why she has not been involved in any matches in the past few weeks, but WWE has continued her storyline with Raquel Rodriguez, as the fans recently saw the Judgment Day member attack her multiple times on Raw.
Stephanie Vaquer Vows To Return “Stronger Than Ever”
It is unknown how long it will take Stephanie Vaquer to fully recover and get cleared for action. Amidst her uncertain WWE future, Stephanie shared an emotional message on Instagram, highlighting her determination to return to the ring “stronger than ever.”
She wrote: “Being a champion means facing challenges, overcoming injuries, and returning to the ring stronger than ever, you have no idea what a true champion really is. I will return, and I will personally show you what it truly means to be an honorable and real champion.”
When injuries happen, WWE usually strips the title from a champion (like they did with Seth Rollins after his Crown Jewel injury), but so far, WWE has decided not to take that road with Vaquer. According to Sean Ross Sapp, Stephanie is not expected to vacate her title. In fact, WWE is planning a match between her and Raquel for the gold.
