Solo Sikoa Vacates NXT North American Title, Stipulation Match Set For Halloween Havoc

The NXT North American Championship is officially vacant.

During the 9/20 episode of WWE NXT, Shawn Michaels addressed the fans with a statement announcing that Solo Sikoa will be relinquishing the NXT North American Championship, since Sikoa ‘wasn’t supposed to be in the match’ when he defeated Carmelo Hayes for the title, two weeks ago.

Sikoa then appeared and handed Michaels the title, before shaking hands and walking away. It appears the real reasoning behind the relinquishment is due to Sikoa being called up to the WWE’s main roster, where he’s joined up with his brother’s, The Usos as well as his cousin, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.

Michaels announced that Hayes would automatically be entered into what will now be a four-way ladder match for the vacant North American Title, which will go down in six weeks at Halloween Havoc. The other three participants will be determined in a series of qualifying matches that’ll take place over the next several weeks.
