Sol Ruca has been turning heads on the WWE main roster as she opens up about whether she felt ready for it.

After being a standout performer on the WWE NXT brand for over three years, Sol Ruca made her main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania at a time when several NXTers joined Raw or SmackDown.

Ruca joining Raw wasn’t a surprise to anyone who watched her in NXT, because the 26-year-old is an incredible athlete who can do things in the ring that most WWE stars can’t.

Unfortunately for Ruca, she is 0-2 as a Raw superstar after picking up losses against the Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, and a former Women’s World Champion, Iyo Sky.

When WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce made a big deal out of Ruca signing to the brand, it upset the Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.

That led Lynch to agree to face Ruca at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23rd. However, it won’t be for Lynch’s title, as Lynch pointed out in a social media post.

There seems to be misinformation regarding my Saturday Nights Main Event match! (The biased wrestling media is pushing the agenda that the title should be on the line!!) NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!

I CLEARLY stated that SUCKER Sol Ruca has done NOTHING to earn a shot at MY VERY PRESTIGIOUS IC TITLE!! We will see if she can hang with the GREATEST female wrestler of all time. A LOT of people don’t think she will, but we will see!! Thank you for your attention on this matter – BTB

From a logical standpoint, it makes sense that it is not a title match, since Ruca has yet to officially win a match on Raw.

Sol Ruca Feels Prepared To Be On The WWE Main Roster

There’s a big jump going from performing in front of 400 fans at NXT in Orlando to 10,000-seat arenas and sometimes stadiums on the main roster, but Sol Ruca told Ringer Wrestling that she feels prepared for it.

“Honestly just being out there in that kind of environment, like out in the ring with that many people, a whole different viewership.

We’re doing pretty much the same things, and NXT has definitely prepared me for this, but we are pretty much starting over in a sense, like this is a whole new ball game. I think that’s probably the biggest change.

Even just being out there for promos and like talking out there. I’m not used to being in that kind of environment, I’m used to the small NXT arena where I know where to look, and now it’s like every week’s different.

So I think that just having a change every single week is pretty different. But it’s definitely manageable and NXT has definitely prepared me for this.”

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place this Saturday, May 23rd. Here’s the lineup.

  • Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
  • WWE World Tag Team Championships: The Vision’s Logan Paul & Austin Theory (c) vs. The Street Profits – Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins
