Shocking! Rhea Ripley Pinned; New WWE Champions Crowned Ahead Of Elimination Chamber

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships were being defended on Friday Night SmackDown once again tonight as the current champions, Rhiyo, proved themselves to be fighting champions.

Ever since winning the belts less than two months ago, the duo hasn’t shied away from a title defense and has already defended their belts thrice. They most recently defended their titles against The Irresistible Forces.

The match was called off by the referee mid-way through after all four competitors took each other out in a chaotic sequence, following which, a rematch was announced for tonight.

New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions crowned tonight

Nia Jax and Lash Legend came out with their new entrance tonight as they looked to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions in the promotion. The challengers dominated the early parts of the match after isolating Iyo Sky from Rhea Ripley.

Both teams gave it their all in their bid to walk out of the show as champions. The Irresistible Forces came extremely close to winning after Jax hit an A-Nia-lator on Iyo Sky, but the pin was broken up by Rhea Ripley.

She then tagged herself in the match and looked to get the win for his side. She hit a Riptide on Nia, but Lash Legend, who was the legal competitor, snuck up behind Ripley and hit her with a Lash Extension to pick up the win and become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
