Sheamus Prevented Ex-WWE Star From Using Signature Move
Sheamus put a stop to a former WWE superstar from using a move that is a regular part of the Irishman’s offensive arsenal.
As a WWE superstar for more than 15 years, Sheamus is known for doing some incredible moves during his matches. The powerful Irishman has finished off dozens of wrestlers with his devastating Brogue Kick, while also doing moves like the ten forearms to the chest, the Irish Curse backbreaker, the Celtic Cross, and the White Noise, among other moves.
The White Noise is also known as an Air Raid Crash, and it’s a move that the legendary Fit Finlay used throughout his career as well. The move sees the wrestler grab his opponent, put the opponent on their back, and fall backwards, so the wrestler is getting slammed to the mat while the person doing the move is landing on them.
Former WWE Tag Team Champion David Otunga spoke to Muscle Man Malcolm on Muscle Memory about how he was going to use the Air Raid Crash, but Sheamus put a stop to it.
“And so then, and to prove I’m not making this up, I tested a couple of different ones out. And I used — Fit Finlay was there and suggested I use the Kryptonite Krunch, which I’m going to get to this. I almost spoiled it.
So I had a match against Santino. I think it was on Superstars, and I used it as the finish. I went over…it looked great. I got in the back, Jamie Noble comes over to me because he was the agent, and I said, ‘How’d I do?’ He goes, ‘Man, it looked like a million bucks. Looked like you killed him, but you can’t use that anymore.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ ‘Yeah. Sheamus got upset because he said it’s an Irish thing, and he’d like to now start using it.’
After that, Sheamus comes out with White Noise a week or two later. Boy, I was heated. So there is a video of me using it. So, you know, I’m not making this up. That’s also why you never saw me use it again.
Oh, man. No, that would have been perfect, too, cuz he doesn’t really use it that often anymore. It was kind of like a if it was like a finisher at one point, they kind of turned it into a signature move almost.
That’s why I feel like Sheamus was dirty to do that, cuz I really could have used it then. He didn’t need it, but just well, you know, that’s what it is. But Sheamus is my guy. Shout out to him. Although Sheamo, you know you were dirty for that. You were.” (H/T 411Mania)

Sheamus Doesn’t Watch His Old Matches
The future WWE Hall of Famer Sheamus admitted earlier this year that he didn’t like to watch his old matches for a specific reason.
“I try not to watch my old stuff. I feel when I first started in WWE, I was so nervous and so self-conscious about myself, and I wasn’t really in the moment. I wasn’t really enjoying it.
I just wanted to make sure I got through it without messing up, without making any mistakes. Now [I’m] at the point where I just love going out there, feel the crowd … he’s [McAfee] there on commentary, banging it out, you can hear him all over the bleeping place. I always hear you. I can hear you over 20,000 people.”
Many fans would say the 47-year-old Sheamus has had the best matches of his career in the last few years, and the Irishman agrees with that.
“I just enjoy, feel the crowd, I’m more in the moment than I’ve ever been. That’s what it’s about, and letting the crowd in, and that’s why I’m having the best matches of my entire career.”
