Saraya Return Update Following Recent Absence

An update has been provided regarding when we might get to see the return of one of AEW’s biggest female stars, Saraya.

It has been several weeks since All Elite Wrestling fans have seen Saraya on television. While her stable known as The Outcasts has been featured prominently with Toni Storm as the AEW Women’s Champion and Ruby Soho by her side, Saraya has been away for a few weeks.

In an update, Fightful Select reports that she’ll be back very soon. They noted that Saraya was backstage at the June 21st AEW Dynamite taping in Chicago on Wednesday, but was not put on camera.

The report adds that Saraya “was briefly sidelined for undisclosed reasons, but that they weren’t serious and isn’t a long-term injury or anything of that nature.”

Since debuting in AEW last September, Saraya has wrestled in seven matches. It has seen her step into the ring about once a month on average. When she stepped back into the ring in AEW against Britt Baker, it was her first match in about five years due to a serious neck injury that required surgery and led to WWE disqualifying the former Paige from wrestling again.

After her run didn’t take off as well as AEW likely hoped it would, The Outcasts group was formed with Saraya and Toni Storm. Ruby Soho joined the group in March as well. The idea behind the group is that they aren’t AEW Originals like some of the women in the company. Since they came from WWE, they consider themselves to be Outcasts, which leads to them being the top heel women’s group in the company.

Toni Storm defends the AEW Women’s Championship against NJPW Strong Champion Willow Nightingale this Sunday at Forbidden Door. Perhaps that’s when we’ll see the third member of The Outcasts make her return to AEW television to help her ally Storm pick up the win.
