Sami Zayn Reveals His True Feelings After Winning The Undisputed WWE Title
After becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion, Sami Zayn expressed his actual feelings.
Sami Zayn has been in the WWE since 2013 and has been the ultimate underdog for the majority of his run. He captured the NXT Championship back in 2014 in a great moment before moving to the main roster the next year. He went on to win multiple US titles, IC titles, and tag team titles as well. However, Sami still had yet to win the World title a decade since his debut.
At the Night of Champions 2026 PLE in Saudi Arabia, Sami Zayn was a part of the triple threat match for the Undisputed WWE Championship involving Cody Rhodes and Gunther. In an utterly shocking moment, Sami actually ended up capturing the prestigious title for the first time in his career. After his massive win, Zayn expressed his happiness while speaking to Byron Saxton, where he stated the following:
A lot has been said about me. Some good and lately some bad. A lot of folks said I would never win the WWE Championship. I stand here tonight in front of my people, [In Arabic: here in Riyadh, in front of the Arab people, the muslim people, the world champion.] The WWE Champion. It’s hard to believe, oh my God!”
Sami Zayn’s true feelings after the Undisputed WWE Championship win
After defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in the main event of Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn made an appearance on this week’s RAW Recap to talk about his win. Sami said that he is still processing it, as it’s hard to fully take in, but he feels great:
I’m still processing it a lot, believe it or not. It’s kind of hard to fully take in. But I guess if I had to answer in one word, it feels just great. It really does. It feels like the weight of the world’s off my shoulder.”
Sami Zayn also addressed almost losing his sanity and putting pressure on himself to eventually win the WWE Championship:
I think anyone who’s paid attention has seen that I kind of drove myself to the edge of sanity a little bit there for a while, just by putting so much pressure on myself to win this thing, and it’s here. And I feel like I can just breathe. It feels great.”
Sami Zayn says he’s still processing being WWE Champion, but it feels like a weight lifted off of him:
