Roman Reigns Must Be Stripped Of World Title Immediately; WWE’s Disastrous Mistake Revealed
Roman Reigns is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He won the title at WrestleMania 42 on Sunday after defeating CM Punk in a singles match in the main event of the night.
During the match, Roman Reigns used steel steps to attack CM Punk while Punk was hanging upside down from the top rope. Generally, using steel steps or any other weapon in a regular match calls for a disqualification. However, the referee let it slide.
A curious fan on Twitter recently asked former WWE referee Mike Chioda to share his insight on the matter. Chioda responded by saying that it was definitely a disqualification when Reigns used steel steps to attack Punk and expressed confusion over the referee’s decision to ignore it.
Technically, Roman Reigns should have been disqualified and, therefore, should not have won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. However, WWE sometimes bends the rules for the sake of entertainment, and hence, Reigns’ use of the steel steps was ignored in the match.
Yes it sure is a DQ. Don’t know why the referee didn’t protect himself while goin over it in rehearsals. 😳 https://t.co/VvaZkXiqdv

Jacob Fatu Challenges Roman Reigns On WWE Raw
Roman Reigns made his first appearance as the World Heavyweight Champion on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 episode on April 20. He was accompanied by his cousins, The Usos, to the ring.
While Reigns was celebrating his victory over CM Punk, Jacob Fatu interrupted the segment and challenged him to put his title on the line at Backlash on May 9, 2026.
Fatu stated that he wasn’t there to acknowledge Reigns and asked him to put the title on the line, saying he needs the title to provide for his family and live the lavish lifestyle it brings.
Reigns didn’t yet accept the challenge on the spot and gave Fatu one week to rethink his request. He promised an answer on the next episode of Raw.
