Roman Reigns Not Advertised For 2024 Royal Rumble

Roman Reigns making his entrance at WWE SummerSlam 2023

It would seem that Roman Reigns won’t be starting his road to WrestleMania at the Royal Rumble.

Whilst the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign has broken records, Roman Reigns has also been very strategic with his appearances, wrestling a reduced schedule meaning that every title defense becomes a must-see occasion.

The last time the gold was on the line was when he retained against Jey Uso at SummerSlam, and his most recent appearance was on SmackDown the following Friday. With no title matches in the pipeline, the Royal Rumble may have been an option as one of the bigger Premium Live Events.

However, the initial advertising for the show would indicate that an appearance from Roman Reigns is far from confirmed.

Roman Reigns Not On Royal Rumble Poster

Whilst the poster for the 2024 Royal Rumble has plenty of top stars on it, there’s no sign of ‘The Head Of The Table’.

It’s also an interesting point of note that both IYO SKY and LA Knight are featured on the poster – the first time they’ve been put in such a prominent position for a Premium Live Event, perhaps indicating the company’s plans for them alongside the other stars on there.

At last year’s Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns put his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Kevin Owens. This was at the time when Sami Zayn was still aligned with The Bloodline, although he sided with Owens after the match and would go on to capture the Tag Team Championships from The Usos at WrestleMania.
