Roman Reigns Facing Jey Uso At SummerSlam With Unique Stipulation

The main event of WWE SummerSlam is set with Roman Reigns facing his cousin Jey Uso in a match with a unique name and stipulation.

On WWE Friday Night Smackdown in Orlando, the main event segment of the show was advertised as a “Rules of Engagement” between the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his cousin Jey Uso.

Due to Jey Uso pinning Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank when he tagged up with Jimmy Uso against Reigns and Jey’s other brother Solo Sikoa, Jey set his sights on beating Roman for his title. Plus, Roman & Jey “injured” Jimmy Uso (as part of the storyline) recently, so Jey is looking for revenge as well.

During the Rules of Engagement segment, Reigns was seated at the head of the table with Solo Sikoa and “Wise Man” Paul Heyman behind him. Jey Uso was also seated at the table, which had a contract on it.

Reigns did his usual trash talk while asking Jey if he really wanted to do this and Jey was adamant that he did. Reigns signed the contract. When Reigns passed the contract over to Jey, it was ripped up immediately with Jey saying they don’t need a contract for this match.

Jey said this is Tribal Combat right now. Reigns asked if the elders know about this. Jey said it was their idea (the elders of the family). Jey said that Tribal Combat means anything goes. Jey commented on using weapons to destroy Reigns like kendo sticks, chairs, tables and other options. It is essentially an “Anything Goes Match” that WWE is calling Tribal Combat.

In addition to that, Reigns took off the red Lei that was wearing around his neck and put it on the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. That means that not only is the title on the line, but if Jey wins then he would become The Tribal Chief of the family, which obviously means a lot to Reigns.

Reigns and Jey shook hands and then touched their foreheads against each other. Solo dumped the table and went for the Samoan Spike, but Reigns stopped it. Jey wasn’t taking any chances, so he hit Solo with a superkick to knock Solo out of the ring. Reigns slowly backed out of the ring while Jey stood tall.

Earlier on Friday, WWE announced that Asuka will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a triple threat match at SummerSlam.

The next WWE Premium Live Event for the main roster is SummerSlam on August 5th at Ford Field in Detroit with this lineup so far:
