Ricky Starks Gives Update After Injury Scare, Tag Title Tournament Plans Changed

Ricky Starks on AEW Collision

Ricky Starks has shared a positive update.

On the March 30th episode of Collision, Ricky Starks teamed with Big Bill to take on Top Flight in the World Tag Team Title Tournament. In the end, it was Dante and Darius Martin who got the win to advance to a match with FTR in the semi-finals. However, that was only part of the story.

Towards the end of the match, Starks was pinned and didn’t kick out, but the referee didn’t count to three as Darius stood up. Starks was quickly hit with a DDT from Darius and this time the pinfall ended the match. Darius could be seen speaking with the referee as he pinned Starks.

Once the match was over, Starks was checked over by medics in the ring. But thankfully he seems to be okay. In a post on social media, Starks wrote “I’m all good, everything checked out fine.”

Ricky Starks Scare Causes Changes

As reported by Fightful Select, Big Bill and Ricky Starks had been scheduled to win the match, but the finish was changed as a precaution.

The semi-finals of the tournament are now set with Top Flight meeting FTR and The Young Bucks taking on Best Friends. The finals will take place at AEW Dynasty on April 21st.

Elsewhere on Collision, Matt Cardona made a surprise appearance answering an open challenge from Adam Copeland.
