Jade Cargill is set to face Rhea Ripley in Italy in a WrestleMania 42 rematch.

Cargill went into the Show of Shows as the WWE Women’s Champion, but could not retain her title. Their match even saw Cargill’s aides, Michin and B-Fab, provide outside assistance, only for them to be taken out by IYO SKY.

In the closing minute, Cargill went for her Jaded finisher; however, Ripley spectacularly countered it and hit her with Riptide for the victory.

After missing a couple of SmackDown tapings, Jade Cargill returned and attacked Ripley during a six-woman tag team match.

Cargill also teamed up with her allies to take on Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match ended with The Storm pinning The Eradicator, giving Cargill a huge momentum boost in the lead-up to their title match at Clash in Italy on May 31.

Jade Cargill Predicts Victory For Her At Clash In Italy

Following her team’s victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Jade Cargill has been in high spirits, knowing that she has the upper hand over Rhea Ripley before their bout on Sunday.

During a recent appearance on SportsCenter, the 33-year-old was asked about what statement her victory would make if she became the 2-time WWE Women’s Champion in Italy.

In response, Jade Cargill claimed it would mean a lot, and that she is the future of the company, and she should be at the top.

Everything. I’m the future. The thing is, she’s been running with the same snick, and I’ve been saying this: are we not tired of that? Are we not tired of that? Jade should be on top. I should be on top. There’s not nobody that looks like me, that talks like me, that walks like me. She was dominant until I showed up. She was a powerhouse until I showed up. She was big until I overshadowed her. That’s what’s gonna happen.

So, regardless of what she is getting, I’m gonna take it all the way to the top, and I’m gonna be the one that’s leaving Clash in Italy with my title. [1:12 onwards]

WWE Is Hosting Its First PLE In Italy

Over the years, WWE has hosted several non-televised shows in Italy, so it was a big deal when Nick Khan announced last September that a premium live event was coming to the country in 2026.

Now with less than a week for the event, the Stamford promotion has announced several bouts, including 4 title matches. The upcoming SmackDown taping on May 29 will emanate from Barcelona, Spain, followed by the PLE on Sunday.

Here’s what the card looks like at the moment:

  • Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther – Undisputed WWE Championship match
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Championship match
  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu – Tribal Combat for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sol Ruca – Women’s Intercontinental Championship match
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi – Singles match
