Rhea Ripley Finally Addresses Backstage Heat With Top WWE Star
Rhea Ripley has now come out and talked about the backstage heat she had with her colleague.
Rhea Ripley won the Elimination Chamber this year and secured a spot at WrestleMania 42 to face Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship.
The pair began feuding on X/Twitter even before facing off on television. Ripley and Cargill traded barbs in the form of tweets that quickly got personal, with Cargill accusing Ripley of spending a lot of time with WWE creative to get her way. Cargill was originally surprised that Ripley was chosen as her opponent and even said in an interview that she thought it would be Tiffany Stratton, who had also qualified for the Chamber match.
Ripley took this attack personally and began hitting back at Cargill. Other wrestlers joined in to support Ripley in the X drama. However, the two later sorted things out and went on to successfully execute their WrestleMania program and also put on a stellar match at the Show of Shows, which Ripley won.
Speaking about the “rocky start” the pair had on her appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, Ripley opened up about her feud with Cargill and how things got better.
I’m excited for this WrestleMania. I really am. I’m going against someone that I never wrestled before. I’ve never even touched pretty much. We haven’t done anything up until this point. She beat my a*s a little bit but, we haven’t really done anything. Started a little bit rocky but we’re on a path now and we’re telling a story and I’m intrigued to see how it goes and just pull off an awesome WrestleMania match. I want this to be a cool moment.
The pre-recorded episode was aired this week. Now Rhea Ripley has another task ahead of her, and it’s to face Jade Cargill in a rematch with her title on the line at Clash in Italy on Sunday.
Rhea Ripley Faces Jade Cargill In A Women’s WWE Title Match At Clash In Italy
Ripley has recently been teaming up with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. The team faced Jade Cargill and her cronies, B-Fab and Michin, in a six-woman tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event last week.
Cargill managed to pick up the victory after pinning Ripley following a Jaded that she landed on The Eradicator.
This pinfall was a major step up for Cargill, who goes into Clash in Italy with the advantage over Ripley.
