Rhea Ripley Eradicates Charlotte Flair At WrestleMania 39

Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley booked her place in a title match for WrestleMania 39 by virtue of outlasting twenty-nine other stars and going coast to coast in the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble.

The Judgment Day star wasted little time in naming her opponent for the event as she set her sights on SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Flair and Ripley previously met on the grandest stage of them all back in 2020 when the boots were on the other feet as Rumble winner Flair dethroned the NXT Women’s Champion.

Ripley has enjoyed a break-out year since joining The Judgment Day in the spring of 2022 and her on-screen relationship with Dominik Mysterio has propelled them both the greater stardom and notoriety.

Charlotte Flair returned to WWE on the final SmackDown of 2022 after spending seven months out of action and immediately defeated Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, earning her 14th world title reign on the main roster.

As the night sky darkened in Los Angeles at WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair created their own first as they competed in the first all-female match in event history with referee Jessika Carr officiating and ring announcer Samantha Irvin introducing both competitors.

What followed was a hard-hitting match with both women taking control of different spells. Late on, Flair survived a Rip Tide for a two count with Ripley kicking out of a Spear to The Queen’s surprise. Eventually, a Rip Tide from the top rope was enough for Ripley to pick up the win and the SmackDown Women’s Title.
